THE ST. LAWRENCE SUPPER CLUB

St. Lawrence Supper Club, September 2021
"The Story of how the Urban Planner, Architect, and Developer built Market Square Condominiums." -- Panel discussion by
Ken Greenberg, Gary Solomon, Jerome Markson.
The St. Lawrence Supper Club invites you to dinner
Once a month on a Monday evening following a 3-course dinner at the Hot House Restaurant, the Supper Club hosts a speaker who provides a thought-provoking and entertaining presentation. Our speakers over the past three decades are an eclectic mix. They have ranged from an Ambassador, Supreme Court Justice, religious leaders, politicians, including several Mayors, and activists to historians, journalists, playwrights, actors, and authors. There is always an opportunity for the audience to participate in a Question and Answer session.
During the pandemic the Supper Club continued to function with well-attended sessions on Zoom. In-person events returned in September 2021. Recent speakers include
-
The founders of Market Square – Ken Greenburg, Cary Solomon and Jerome Markson;
-
Roger Browne, Director of Traffic Management for Toronto;
-
Lisa Rochon, bestselling author of the novel “The Tuscan Daughter”.
-
Joe Berridge, Urban Master-Planner, and author of "Perfect City".
Significantly, 10% of the meal ticket money and the proceeds of the 50/50 ticket sales are donated to worthwhile local causes. Recent recipients include Sojourn House, Fred Victor Mission, the Market Lane Public School STEM program, StreetHealth and the scholarship established at University of Toronto Schools in honour of Stan Pearl, our Chair and former Principal of the School, who passed away in 2021.
The meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend. Registration is first come/first served, seating is limited, and events are frequently sold-out with a waiting list.

We are always looking for distinguished speakers for our future programs. The Supper Club is a community based volunteer run organization. Even though we do not pay honourariums, excellent speakers with unique experience and knowledge respond favourably to our invitations to speak at our events. If you have heard a speaker who you feel would inform and inspire our audience, please send the speaker's contact information to our Organizing Committee at our email address above.
